WordPress Widgets

The Tour Operator Plugin currently includes two widgets.

Tour Map Widget

Tour Map Widget

Displays the starting location of the Tour on an interactive map using MapBox. The map can be dragged and zoomed.

The Map Widget will only appear on Tour pages.

Setup

The widget is included in the TourCMS plugin, to add it to your website just head to the Admin area of your site and in "Appearance" > "Widgets", click the plus symbol and select "Tour Map". For sites with a sidebar the top of the sidebar works well.

You will need to request a MapBox access token, and optionally adjust the map appearance with a MapBox Style.

Availability Widget

Availability Widget

Displays a simple two year month by month calendar showing which months currently have availability (up to 12 months in advance). Clicking on one of the available months loads the booking engine, depending on your selections in the Plugin setup page.

The Availability Widget will only appear on Tour pages.

Setup

The widget is included in the TourCMS plugin, to add it to your website just head to the Admin area of your site and in "Appearance" > "Widgets", click the plus symbol and select "Tour Availability". For sites with a sidebar the top of the sidebar works well.

Currently the only configuration option is the Title text.

Tour List Widget

Tour List Widget

Display up to three tours in a list.

The widget can appear on any page, not just tour pages. Add one or two to your front page perhaps. To control which pages the widget appears on install the Widget Context plugin.

Setup

The widget is included in the TourCMS theme. To add it to your website just head to the Admin area of your site and in "Appearance" > "Widgets", click the plus symbol and select "Tour List". For sites with multiple widget areas, try adding to one that is quite wide.

Using these widgets with the TourCMS theme

If you are using the TourCMS WordPress theme, ensure you add the widgets to the widget area called "Sidebar"

TourCMS Marketplace Widgets

The TourCMS Marketplace Widgets also work with WordPress, these are small snippets of JavaScript that can be generated in TourCMS to do things like list Tours or show lead in prices. Particularly handy if you plan to use the blog parts of WordPress and want to list some of your Tours along side.

Marketplace Widgets can be added to templates, posts/pages (with sufficient permission) or to "Text" Widgets.
